Sam Wilson was spotted by police

With no doors, bonnet, lights or grill, this battered old car has clearly reached its shell-by date…
But pizza
delivery man Sam Wilson was spotted by police
driving the Peugeot 306 for almost three miles – using his arms to indicate.

When officers pulled over the dozy 25-year-old he told them he was taking it to a scrap yard and had removed much of the bodywork to sell for more cash
. But he thought it was OK to drive as it had an MOT.

The dad-of-two, from Nottingham, was fined £110 by magistrates in the city after being convicted of driving a dangerous car.
Electrical engineering student
Wilson said after the hearing: “I was starting college and was only getting £150 at the scrapyard, so I thought if I took the doors off and other parts I’d get more money
.

"It didn’t have lights, but it was daylight. It didn’t have signals but I used arm signals.
"I wouldn’t have driven it if I didn’t think it was safe.”
He was also ordered to pay £120 costs
and got three points slapped on his driving licence.

A spokesman said: “It beggars belief that he thought he could drive it. He put the safety of himself and others at risk.
