A Four-storey building at Mpakani B Street in Kijitonyama, Dar es Salaam has collapsed, killing a nine-year old girl, Joha Jeremia who was living in the building with her mother and a house girl.
The old building collapsed around 4.45 in the evening. Besides Joha, the other person inside the building was Clementina Kipanjula, the housegirl, who was rescued by the Fire and Rescue Force two hours later.
Mpakani B Street Chairman Balbo Kalinga said that the old building was owned by Charles Lukumay who bequethed it to his children following his death in 1999.
