The funeral of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton on February 9, 2013, in Chicago, Illinois. Hadiya was killed on January 29, when a gunman opened fire on her and some friends while they were standing under a shelter on a warm rainy afternoon in a park about a mile from President Obama's Chicago home. First lady Michelle Obama attended the funeral with Senior White House Adviser Valerie Jarrett and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.
