Doctors stitch man's severed hand to his LEG to keep it alive while they repair it

At first glance this man appears to be scratching his ankle - but a closer look reveals his severed hand is actually stitched to his leg.
Xiao Wei's right hand was chopped off by a machine at work and salvaged by colleagues.
But doctors needed to keep it alive while they repaired his arm, which was also flattened in the accident. They decided to attach it to his left ankle to keep the blood flowing to it.
Mr Wei's hand has now been re-attached to his arm in Changsha, China.
He said: "I was just shocked and frozen at the spot, until co-workers unplugged the machine and retrieved my hand and took me to hospital.
"I'm still young and couldn't imagine life without a right hand."
